Motivational Interviewing

This interactive training is an introduction to Motivational Interviewing, which is a collaborative, goal-oriented method of communication to strengthen motivation to change. Participants will learn and practice basic foundational skills in Motivational Interviewing (understanding MI spirit; managing counter change talk and discord; recognizing, reinforcing, and eliciting change talk) to have conversations with clients that will guide the discovery of their own ideas and motivations for positive behavior change.

All interested persons are welcome to apply to attend update training courses. Applicants who are employed and/or volunteering at a State-funded agency will receive priority for course placement.
