Youth Mental Health First AID

This update will introduce participants to the unique risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents (ages 12-18), build understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teach individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. The training will use role plays and stimulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis; select interventions and provide initial help; and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care.
Continuing Education opportunities are available for nurses, community health workers and social workers. If more information is needed, please contact CEInfo@mphi.org.
All interested persons are welcome to apply to attend update training courses. Applicants who are employed and/or volunteering at a State-funded agency will receive priority for course placement.
