Meet Anissa Buiskool
Anissa is a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) who wrote for and was awarded a scholarship to attend the National Society of Government Meeting Professional’s Annual Education Conference and completed the pre-conference workshop which earned her a Certified Government Meeting Professional (CGMP) certification in May of 2013. For the past nine years, Anissa has planned over 50 meetings, trainings and workshops annually. Anissa has planned a variety of government events from a Michigan Child Death Review (CDR) Coordinator Meeting to a National CDR Symposium which was hosted in Washington DC. She was named “Planner of the Year” in 2009 and 2015 by her peers in the Michigan Chapter of Government Meeting Professionals. She was also nominated in 2012 and awarded by her peers as Meeting Professionals International, Michigan Chapter’s “Finest Meeting Planner” in 2014 . She is responsible for all aspects of training which include attending client meetings, working with local Convention and Visitors Bureaus on Requests For Proposals for site selection, coordinating continuing education credits, rooming and travel for staff, speakers and attendees, contract review, overseeing budgets, compiling registration information, finalizing all Banquet Event Orders’s and complete oversight of the event once onsite, tabulating evaluation results and finally reporting Return on Investment to all clients . Anissa has also completed both the Government Meeting Specialist (GMS) certification through the Michigan Chapter of Society of Government Meeting Planners and her Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) certificate through the Greater Lansing Convention and Visitors Bureau.
