Family Planning IUD Training
In collaboration with the University of Michigan, MDHHS is offering a Long Acting Reversible Contraceptive (LARC) insertion/removal and Contraceptive training for family planning and other providers in Marquette, MI. Training opportunities on both IUDs and hormonal implants will be included. The training will be held in conjunction with the MDHHS Regional Family Planning Coordinator meeting and is open to Title X and non-Title X providers.
The purpose of this training is to provide insertion/removal training on LARCs, both IUDs and implant, to providers in the region. A general contraceptive update will be provided. Specialized content will address some specific issues including: transitioning peri-menopausal women off a method, abnormal uterine bleeding patterns, pain, and open Q &A. MDHHS will share IUD content for Coordinators and other non-providers on scheduling, ordering, billing, patient assistance programs, necessary equipment or supplies, and others.
